KABUL – Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan H.E Salahuddin Rabbani met with Regional Economic Experts of the East West Institute under the leadership of Mr. James Criten Operational Director of the Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon. These experts are to participate at the Economic and Political Meetings involving Afghanistan, Central Asia, Pakistan, and India in Kabul.
Foreign Minister thanked the experts for their cooperation in finding various practical ways, through their views and recommendations, for regional cooperation and said, “Afghanistan has shown that it has spared no effort in this regard by taking practical steps and holding important meetings in the way towards regional convergence and cooperation.”
Foreign Minister explained the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in extending relations with regional countries. He mentioned that Afghanistan wants to cooperate with all regional countries, including Pakistan, and expects honest cooperation from them.
Afterwards, Mr. James Criten explained the experts’ activities and meetings with regional countries’ and Afghanistan’s neighboring countries’ authorities and expressed his hope that by putting all views and recommendations in practice bilateral and multilateral political and economic cooperation between Afghanistan and the regional countries would be extended and could help create peace, stability, and build confidence.
