Kabul (BNA) 75th anniversary of the Afghan-Swedish Diplomatic Relations celebrated in Presidential Palace in Kabul.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, CEO of the NUG, Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation H.E. Ms. Isabela Loven.
President Ghani said that the friendship between the two countries would get further closer with the passage of time.
The history of 75 years of relationship between the two countries has proved that Sweden has been a friend indeed and in need, said President Ghani.
President Ghani also expressed gratitude to Sweden over its contribution to Afghanistan’s development over the past 15 years. The Swedish Minister for Development Cooperation in her speech termed terrorism as common enemy of poor and rich nations and stressed for joint and coordinated fight against the menace. Minister Loven reiterated on her country’s commitment to Afghanistan and extending cooperation in variety of fields.
Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, first lady Bibi Gul, Foreign Minister Salahudin Rabbani, Cabinet Members and Kabul-based Diplomats also attended the ceremony.
